My Filipino friends from Winnemucca, Nevada and I had a picnic here 3 weeks ago. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
We arrived at past 8:00 o'clock in the morning and the place was already a bit crowded. We did not bring umbrella or tent which we regretted but we were able to find a shady spot so it was still good. The Lake Tahoe beach is gorgeous, very scenic and is inviting but the water is very cold. The scattered boulders have added to the beauty of the lake. The sand is very fine but cold as well so I did not dare to take a dip, actually no one did except my friend's 10 year old son.
There is a designated place for cooking/grilling by the parking area with grill and picnic table so we were able to grill our fresh tuna and pork kebabs. We had pork and chicken adobo, rice, fresh fruits, muffins, and of course, different kinds of drinks. If you come to this place without bringing food, that is fine because there is a concession in the vicinity where you can buy food and drinks.
We have more company coming but when they arrived at past 10:00 o'clock, the gate was already closed because the parking area can not accommodate cars no more. They had to ride a bus. They drove to Incline Village to look for the bus "station". The bus leaves every 20 minutes, they charge $3.00 for adults and $1.50 for kids. It was a little hassle for them but they were glad they made it.
We walked around after lunch and had lots of pictures taken. There was a wedding held earlier that day in a very nice and shady spot by the beach and I thought, "We missed it, dang it!" 😀
Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I would not get tired of its perfect beauty. I actually have been here many times but it was only this trip that we had picnic, and every time I come here, I'd feel like it was only my first time. I don't think I ever get tired of coming back here over and over again.
Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe is such a beauteous!
Thank you for dropping by. Have a good one!
